Managing Your Profile

Learn more about how to use and manage your profile.

 

Access Your Profile

Tap the menu button to open the Navigator then tap your profile photo in the top left corner to access your profile. If you are on a larger screen, like a laptop or desktop computer, you can also access your profile by tapping on your profile photo in the top right corner of the screen and then choose View Profile.

 

Your info is displayed in the profile banner.

Posts

Self-posts are posts you make to the newsfeed. You can also create a post in your profile. These are not connected to a group, rather your profile. If your profile privacy is set to Public then anyone on Commissioned can see your posts. If your privacy is set to Private then only your connections can see your posts.

Connections

Connections displays the people you are connected to. Use the user menu to take action on a single connection.

From the user menu you can:

  • View their profile
  • Send them a message
  • Disconnect
  • Report them
  • Add a quick link to their profile in your quick link menu

Connect With Another User

While viewing their profile tap the Connect button to send a connection request. The other user will decide whether they want to connect and either accept or reject the connection request. If they accept the connection you will be notified.

While viewing another user in a list (like in a search or a group member list) tap the connect icon. The other user will decide whether they want to connect and either accept or reject the connection request. If they accept the connection you will be notified.

Bookmarks

Posts that you bookmark are displayed in the bookmarks area.

Open the post menu and select Bookmark.

Optimize

Optimizing your profile means answering four questions about your passions and interests. The app will use your answers to match you with people, groups and content that you may want to connect with. After answering the survey, find recommendations in Discover using the Navigator menu.

 

 

Edit Profile

When editing your profile you can change:

  • Name
  • Thumbnail and Cover Image
  • Headline
  • About
  • Website
  • Profile Visibility
  • Organization
  • Location
  • Language
  • Phone Number
  • Email
  • Change Password
  • Social Accounts
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • Delete Account

Name

Update your name at the top of the edit profile page.

Photos

Use the pencil buttons to replace your thumbnail or cover image. After selecting a new photo, wait for the progress wheel to complete before saving.

Headline, About, Website

Update your headline, about statement and website. Notice the number under each field indicates the remaining number of characters you can enter in that field. 

  • Headline (100 characters max)
  • About (470 characters max)
  • Website (150 characters max)

Profile Visibility

Commissioned has two options for profile visibility: Public or Private. All profiles are hidden from the internet (they can only be seen by someone with an account on Commissioned). The following table outlines what piece of information is visible to whom.

Organization

Search or add an organization you are affiliated with.

Location

Your location can be as specific or broad as you want. You can add your street address, city, or just your country. You get to choose how specific to be. The benefit of adding a more specific location is that Commissioned can make recommendations based on location. Other users can’t see your specific location (regardless of whether they are connected with you or not). They can only see your country flag. Some groups may request your location when you join the group. If you grant them access to your location they will see your full location (whatever you add here).

 

Tap the Location field. In the new window, search for your location and tap to select it.

Phone Number

If you signed up with a phone number it’s displayed here. You can change your phone number by tapping Update Phone. Follow the prompts to send a verification text message and confirm your number. If you signed up with email you can also add your phone as another login option.

Email

If you signed up with an email address your email is displayed here. If you signed up with a phone number you can add your email as another login option (add a password too). Change your email address by entering your new address and tapping Save.

Change Password

Change your password by entering your current password and your new password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, have one special character and one number. Special characters are things like this: !@#$%^&*. 

Social Accounts

Add your social accounts so others can find you on these platforms. Enter the full link to your profile. You can add links to your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.

Delete Account

This will delete your profile and associated data from the app completely. When you confirm the action, this is effective immediately and cannot be undone.
