Sign Up And Join A Group

How to Sign Up  

There are two ways to create a user profile:

  1. On your mobile device using the downloaded mobile app.
  2. Through any web browser.

If you received a special invitation to join, you received a Group Code and/or Group Link to join this group after you successfully sign up.

 

Did you get invited? Sign up first. Then, go to the instructions for Joining a Group After Signup. Refer to your invitation email for the organization’s unique Group Code and Group Link.

 

Two Signup Methods

During registration, choose to sign up with an email address or a mobile phone number.

 

With email signup, you will create a password. The password will need to be a minimum of 8 characters that contains at least one number and at least one special character. The email address is the login ID for your profile.

 

With phone signup, you need to be able to receive text messages on your mobile device. You will receive a registration verification code. The phone number, including the country calling code, is your login ID for your profile.

 

If you use an email address for your profile, you will receive a Welcome email message.

 

Sign Up Using Mobile Phone Number

How to register on the web browser with a mobile phone number:

  1. Tap Select Language to choose your language for the app. Tap OK on the prompt to confirm. English is the default language.
  2. If you have a group code enter it in the Group Code field. Tap Next.
  3. Next to the phone number field tap the flag to set the country calling code for your phone number.
  4. Type your phone number into the field. Tap the Send Verification button.

  5. Enter the verification token that was sent via text. It will be a 6-digit number. Tap the VERIFY button.
  6. Enter your first name and last name. Add a one sentence description. Tap Next.
  7. Upload a profile photo. Tap Next.
  8. Answer the Extended Profile questions and then tap Next. If you want to answer these questions later, tap Skip.
  9. Set your profile visibility, default is Private. Only people you are connected with can see your Newsfeed posts when your profile is set to Private. Public visibility means anyone on the app can see your profile and see your Newsfeed posts. Public visibility does not mean anyone on the internet can see your profile and posts. Your profile will never be submitted to or indexed by search engines (such as Google). Public visibility is only public within the Connect-ITZ app.
  10. Agree to the terms and then tap Signup. You are now logged in.

 

Sign Up Using Email Address

  1. Tap Select Language to choose your language for the app. Tap OK on the prompt to confirm. English is the default language.
  2. If you have a group code enter it in the Group Code field. Tap Next.
  3. Tap the link to Signup with Email Instead.
  4. Tap Select Location to search and add your location.
  5. Enter your email address. Type your password twice. Tap Next.

  6. Enter your first name and last name. Add a one sentence profile description. Tap Next.
  7. Upload a profile photo. Tap Next.
  8. Answer the Extended Profile questions and then tap Next. If you want to answer these questions later, then tap Skip.
  9. Set your profile visibility, default is Private. Only people you are connected with can see your Newsfeed posts when your profile is set to Private. Public visibility means anyone on the app can see your profile and see your Newsfeed posts. Public visibility does not mean anyone on the internet can see your profile and posts.   10. Agree to the terms and then tap Signup. You are now logged in.
  11. Go to your email inbox and look for an email with the subject line “Verify Your Email.” Follow the instructions in the email.

 

Joining a Group After Signup

If you received an invitation from an organization, follow these steps. You will need the Group Code. If you have the Group Link, the Group Code is the uppercase letters at the end of the web address following the last forward slash.

CODE123 is the Group Code.

 

  1. Make sure you are logged in.
  2. Tap on Groups, the navigation icon that looks like people: 
  3. Tap Join New Group.
  4. Type the Group Code. 
  5. Tap the Next button.
  6. Tap the button that will say Join Group or Register. If it is a Register button, you will see a message that says: APPROVAL TO JOIN THIS GROUP IS REQUIRED. The group admin must approve your membership before you gain access to the group. 
  7. You may have a survey to complete. Answer the questions. Tap the Next button.
  8. After you have joined, you will now see the group’s dashboard.

The Home Zone Group

Every user that joins the app is automatically added as a member of the platform-wide group called The Home Zone. This group is administered by the Connect-ITZ team. Its primary purpose is to broadcast applicable information, updates and messages pertaining to the app.
